Position Title: Quality Assurance (QA) Officer
Department: Quality & Compliance
Location: Sindh Institute of Advanced Gastroenterology (SIAG)
Reports To: Head of Quality / Medical Director
Role Summary
The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality management systems at SIAG. The role ensures compliance with national and international healthcare standards, improves patient safety, enhances service delivery, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement in all clinical and administrative areas.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, JCIA, CPSP, and Sindh Health Care Commission guidelines.
- Conduct internal audits of clinical, laboratory, and administrative departments.
- Ensure patient safety protocols, infection control standards, and ethical medical practices are upheld.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Collect, analyze, and report quality indicators (clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, incident reports).
- Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards for management review.
- Support departments in closing gaps identified during audits or inspections.
Training & Capacity Building
- Conduct training sessions for medical, nursing, and administrative staff on quality protocols.
- Promote awareness of patient safety culture and continuous improvement practices.
- Assist in preparing departments for external audits and accreditation visits.
Risk & Incident Management
- Investigate patient safety incidents, complaints, and near-misses.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain records of adverse events and track improvements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain updated records of QA activities, audits, and compliance reports.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly QA reports for senior management.
- Ensure proper documentation for regulatory and accreditation compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Master’s in Hospital/Healthcare Management, Quality Management, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in Quality Assurance within healthcare (hospital, clinic, or research institute).
- Skills:
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, JCIA, or other healthcare accreditation standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and quality management tools.
- Personal Attributes: Ethical, detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Percentage of compliance with national and international healthcare standards.
- Number of successful internal audits conducted.
- Reduction in patient safety incidents and complaints.
- Staff training sessions conducted and attendance rates.
- Accreditation and regulatory compliance status.
